Refunds and Exchange Policy
We believe you will be very satisfied with your purchase from Smart Marine. You are however welcome to return the item(s) for an exchange or refund within 40 days of purchase if you change your mind or the item is unwanted. We do require a receipt, the item(s) to be in its original condition and packaging, unopened and without any defects or damage. Please note, shipping costs are non-refundable and any non-stock special order items will incur a 20% restocking fee.
This can be arranged via our Smart Web Crew, please email: info@smartmarine.co.nz regarding returns of any online orders, or if you prefer, conveniently in person at any of our Smart Marine Superstores.
Clearance Items: Products identified and advertised as clearance are non-refundable and non-exchangeable, unless faulty.
Visible Defects: Our Crew inspect all items that are dispatched from our stores. Please also inspect the items delivered to you to ensure they are in good condition, without defects or damage. Any visible concerns with your product need to be reported to the Smart Web Crew within 24 hours of delivery by email, otherwise a warranty or insurance claim may not be possible. Please email the Smart Web Crew at: info@smartmarine.co.nz and provide photos for our review.
Warranties: On the rare occasion that you consider a product purchased from our website is faulty and under warranty, please contact the Smart Web Crew immediately. If the item was purchased instore at one of our stores, please contact the store directly. Next steps:
- Please email info@smartmarine.co.nz detailing the issues with the item(s) and, if possible, please email any photos. The Smart Web Crew will promptly respond and may need to directly contact the supplier for prior-approval.
- If the Smart Web Crew deems the item(s) as a potential warranty claim, the Smart Web Crew will request the item(s) to be returned by courier or in person with a covering letter (detailed below) to:

- Please note, web returns can only be promptly processed with a covering letter containing:
- Your contact details, details of the issue with the item(s), copies of any relevant photos/documentation, and any other information relevant to the warranty claim.
- Once we have received the item(s), it will be promptly assessed internally and/or sent to the supplier for warranty analysis.
- If the product is found to have a manufacturing fault, in the first instance the item(s) will be repaired, or replaced with an identical item(s), within a reasonable time. If either of these options are not possible, a refund will be provided.
