The Reel
The new Aerlex series is a tough reel fitted with Instant Drag designed for heavy duty work.
The new cosmetic design and the superb Aero Wrap II line lay with 2 speed Oscillation, combined with the AR-C spool produces the excellent casting performance required by both carp and surf anglers.
A high torque 4,6:1 retrieve ratio gives the Aerlex the power to deal with heavy leads over rough ground. The SPOD version is equipped with a higher gear ratio of 5,3:1, which equals a retrieve of 115 cm, to make sure that the spod can be retrieved fast so more time can be spend fishing.

The Rod
Purpose built light-tackle lure rods enveloped in darkness.
Designed from the ground up by the team at Shimano New Zealand, the Blackout range offers anglers class-leading selection of spin rods for finesse light-tackle fishing applications.
Starting with a selection of custom-built mandrels, the Blackout features Shimano’s innovative T45 construction. The blank is built by rolling graphite tape at a linear 45-degree angle and reinforcing it with two sheets of graphite rolled at opposing angles. This creates a lightweight blank with outstanding recovery and sensitivity. Fuji Alconite guides have been used throughout the build, ensuring the Blackout offers the trouble-free performance expected by experienced lure fisherman.
While a Fuji soft-touch reel seat combines with exceptionally comfortable Winn grips to provide the Blackout with a unique feel previously only found in custom built rods.
