The Reel:

• PARALLEL BODY
  PARELLEL BODY is designed to improve dynamic line flow from the reel. On many reels the spool is aligned slightly upwards towards the rod blank, but reels with PARELLEL BODY have the spool located parallel to the blank. The result: less line slapping on the blank as it travels towards the first guide during the cast, ultimately increasing performance.
• AR-C SPOOL
  Shimano AR-C Spool features a special spool ring shape. This design effectively minimises the possibility of issues when line exits the spool, resulting in trouble-free line management and exceptional casting performance.
• CI4+
  CI4 is a resin material reinforced with carbon fiber that is lighter and has a higher strength than conventional resin material. CI4+ is an advanced version of the original CI4 material.The rigidity and durability have been greatly improved from original CI4 material while maintaining the lightness of the material, making it possible to reduce the size and weight of the reel.
• INSTANT DRAG
  INSTANT DRAG allows the drag setting to be switched from free spool to a 'fight' setting by tightening the INSTANT DRAG lever on the front of the spool in only a few turns.
• S A-RB
  S A-RB bearings are put through the same process as Shimano’s A-RB bearings but feature shields on both sides of the bearings. These shields reduce the possibility of salt or sand inhibiting the rotation of the bearing.

The Rod:

Amazing fish fighting performance from the beach.

The new Ultegra BX has a new improved blank with Hi-Power X technology. This blank stands out in strength and stiffness and reduces blank twist, making this rods at true casting machine.

The rod blank is strong, stiff and yet light of weight. The Hi-Power X blank provides excellent casting distance and accuracy. The 425 models are fitted with Fuji Lowrider Alconite Lowrider guides and Fuji DPS reel seats.

The 450 models are fitted with Fuji K-Type Alconite guides and Fuji DPS reel seats. The tip guide of all models is a Fuji Stainless Steel SiC guide. Both lengths come in a tubular and solid tip version.

All rods have the Cast Control Grip to facilitate a strong hold when casting.
