Note we recommend Maxtek davits are professionally installed which involves:
1) Masking up the job.
2) Sanding the rubber davit with 80 grit paper.
3) Cleaning the bonding surfaces with toluene or Mek (especially the rubber davit) ( Alcohol can be used but does bnot remove old glue affectively 4) Pre priming the rubber davit with Bostik 2402/2405 hypalon glue or similar and allow up to 2 days to cure. (longer mid winter)
5) For PVC boats (once 2402/2405 has cured on rubber davit) standard PVC inflatable glue can be used. Three coats tacky on tacky to both surfaces and then both surfaces warmed (not hot) and then davit attached. Note this is a high contact glue and there is no available movement if in wrong position. For hypalon boats 2402/2405 or Bostik 999 with activator is used for the entire job.
6) Note if there is old glue present it must be removed with toluene or MEK.
